Jacob Daniel Locker (my great-grandfather), the son of German immigrates, Rev. Phillip and Martha Locker , married Leah Etta Freemyer, daughter of Joseph L. Freemyer and Mary Elder. They were married on November 10th, 1877 in Jay County, Indiana. They had eleven children; six sons and five daughters.

Jacob and his wife Leah, were both born in Madison Township, Jay County, Indiana and were members of pioneer families. Jacob was a proprietor of a well kept farm of forty acres and was one of the well known men in the community. He also drove a school hack for the Madison Township Consolidated School system.
