Evelyn R. Santana resident of Fremont entered peacefully into rest June 9, 2010 at Washington Hospital in Fremont, CA. Born December 2, 1925 in Irvington, CA to Serafine and Mary Bettencourt, she was 84 years old and a life long Fremont resident. She retired from the Alameda County Water district where she workd as a Customer Accounting Supervisor from March 11, 1952 to March 11, 1981; she was also a volunteer for the Fremont Police Dept. known for her concern for others, always being there when someone need help or encouragement, someone who was charitable, and one that you could always count on. She was always support of the Veteran's and enjoyed the A's where she was a season ticket holder. Member of YLI and U.P.P.E.C. Council #19. She will be remembered by her compasion and the great love to others. Devoted wife of the late William Santana. Loving sister of Florence Rodrigues of Fremont, CA and the late Serafine Bettencourt. Adored Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Aspecial thank you to the caregivers of Americare. Family and friends are invited to attend a 7:00pm vigil service Sunday, June 13th with visitation from 4:00pm to 8:00pm held at Berge Pappas Smith Chapel of the Angeles Fremont, CA. Mass will be Monday June 14th at 10:30am at the Holy Family Chapel Washington Blvd., Fremont, CA. She will be laid to rest at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, CA.
