Joby passed away when he was 9 years old. He and his 8-year-old brother, Jason, were sadly killed in a fire inside of a shed that was in the backyard of their home in Hewitt, Texas, where they had lived with their mother and their stepfather. He was then convicted of two counts of murder, and sentenced to 60 years. Under the plea deal, he was credited for the 25 years that he had already spent in prison. He was then paroled just seven days after he pleaded guilty.
