Verna P. Carrick, age 84, of Vestaburg, passed away November 11, 2004 at Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mt. Pleasant. She was born May 2, 1920 in Breckenridge, Michigan, the daughter of Rudolph and Katie (Howd) Flashaar. On November 14, 1938 she married Roy Carrick. Verna was a beautician for over 40 years and co-owner of the Powder Puff Hair Salon in Edmore. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and loved her grandchildren.
Verna is survived by her husband, Roy Carrick; 2 daughters, Dianne Sanders of Winn, MI and Ione (Larry) Keeler of Riverdale, MI; 1 son, Dexter (Ginger) Carrick of Traverse City, MI; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Owen and Loren Carrick; a grand-daughter, Dawn.
A Remembrance Service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, November 27, 2004 at Community of Christ Church in Vestaburg, Michigan. If so desired, memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
