Mr. Bill B. Woody, age 83, of Suches, GA, died January 2, 2011.

Bill was a native and lifelong resident of Suches. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Suches where he served as deacon, song leader, and church clerk. He was an educator, having taught at Truett McConnell College, North Georgia College, and Woody Gap School. Bill also served as Principal at Woody Gap School and Lumpkin County High School. He was also Registrar, Director of admissions and public relations at North Georgia College. Bill also served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was the son of the late Walter W. Woody and Nina Dixon Woody, and was also preceded in death by his brother, Arthur D. Woody.

Bill is survived by nephews, Edward Woody and William (Bill) Woody; 5 grand nephews, 2 grand nieces, and a number of other relatives also survive.

Bill was cremated and a graveside memorial service is scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge of the arrangements.
