On last Friday, December 19, at the home of her son, Mr. Claude C. Jackson, was held a family reunion, the occasion being the 74th birthday of his mother, Mrs. Eliza Warren Jackson, widow of the late Solomon Love Jackson.
A great dinner was spread for the fifty present and the day was one of much joy. The guests included several children and numerous grandchildren. Present were Mrs. Albert Stainback and son, Albert Warren, of Durham; Mrs. Sarah A. Owens and children, Vernie and Frank, of Clinton; Mrs. Irene Caison and children, J.C., Jr., and Misses Eleanor and Dorothy, of Germanton; Mrs. Hattie J. Davis and children, Martin, W.B., Jr. and Miss Marjorie Jackson, of Greensboro; Mrs. Frankita Dearmin' and Master Claude of Jacksonville, Fla. Other near relatives were Roy Warren, Leonidas Warren, wife and child, Coy Warren, Mr. and Mrs. Nellie Warren McLamb. Besides these there were quite a number of friends and neighbors present, bringing the total number of those enjoying the bountiful feast to more than fifty.
Only one child, Mrs. Sudie Crumpler, of Cumberland county, was absent. She, unfortunately, was kept away by illness.
Mrs. Jackson is a daughter of the late Blake Warren, son of Isaiah Warren, whose family record was given in the Democrat a few weeks ago and she with her descendants adds another umbrageous limb to the Warren family tree.
Mrs. Warren was married to Solomon Jackson in January 1864, when she was only eighteen years of age, with whom she lived happily many years, and now finds joy in the numerous worthy offspring of the union.
**the above "Jackson Reunion" newspaper item is incorrect (she was the daughter of Blake Jr who died in 1852 - & not Blake Sr). See 1850 Census below:
