Shirley C. "Joey" Gallimore, 76, of Chillicothe, died 4:30 a.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born February 15, 1934, in Hamlin, WV, to the late Alonzo and Christina A. Porter Gallimore. On June 5, 1971, he married the former Frances E. McCloud who survives; also surviving are four children, all of Chillicothe; nine grandchildren; a great granddaughter; a brother, of Troy, NY; two sisters, both of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers and a sister.
Shirley served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired farmer.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Jared McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Ware's from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
