Dane Cooke Sorrell, 67, of Sparta, passed away Jan. 1, 2011, at this home.
Mr. Sorrell was born April 8, 1943, in Colorado. He was the son of the late Robert and Thelma Upton Sorrell.
He was a retired school teacher, in Cumberland County.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Marie Bennett Sorrell, of Sparta; daughter, Lorie Parrett and husband Brent, of Cookeville; granddaughter, Jessica Marie Parrett, of Cookeville; brother, John (Buddy) Sorrell, of Arkansas; and sister, Adell Collins, of Oklahoma.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Jan. 4, 2011, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Old Bon Air Cemetery. Charles Myers will officiate.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
