Jennie Katherine Kissick, 95, a resident of the Good Shepherd Home in Greenfield, passed away Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born Aug. 28, 1915, in Rowan County, Ky., the daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Arrenia (Purvis) Caldwell.

She retired from Brooks Foods in Mt. Summit in 1978. She was a member of Spiceland Church of the Nazarene and Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, needlework and quilting. She loved music and enjoyed playing guitar.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Couch of New Palestine, Marjorie (Herbert) Reeves of Knightstown, Kenneth (Kathy) Kissick of Mooresville, Barry Allen Kissick of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Francis Kissick; daughter, Joyce Kissick Brown; two sons, Bobby Ray and Billy Francis Kissick; brothers, Everett, Simpson, Dolphus and Allie Caldwell; and sisters, Mary Caldwell, Elvia Cochran, Eunice Prater, and Grace Rawlings.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at the chapel, with Pastors Mark Herbkersman and Allen Sutherland officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Springport.
