Dorothy Springer, 77, of Lakeside, Michigan died Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at St. Anthony Health Center, Michigan City, Indiana.

Mrs. Springer was born July 25, 1928 in Huffman, Arkansas to John and Daisy (Wells) Riggs. Dorothy married David Springer on November 6, 1946 in Sawyer, Michigan and they made their home in Lakeside where they raised their family. Dorothy worked at Gerwins in Michigan City as a machine operator. She enjoyed working with her mother and sisters repairing dolls and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose Lodge in Michigan City, Indiana.

Mrs. Springer is survived by her husband David; son David Springer of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; daughter Dianna(William) Harris of Elkhart, Indiana; sisters Wanda (Robert) Ketelhut of Baroda and Peggy (Arthur) Kopp of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Brandy, David, Riki, William, Carley, Deana, Dana, Meagan, and Rebecca; and 17 great grandchildren. Mrs. Springer was preceded in death by two sons; Dean and Doug; and by her brother John Riggs.

Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 15,at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks, Michigan. Services will be held at 11:00 am,Friday, December 16 at the funeral home with Reverend Sherri Swanson officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
