Leota Pearman Dixon

Funeral services for Leota Pearman Dixon, age 94, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 10:00 am Fri, Jul 17, 2009 at People's Church, Jacksonville with Rev. Andy Fannette and Rev. Victoria Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Jacksonville City Cemetery, under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

She went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in Jacksonville.  She was born November 19, 1914 in Troup to Y. C. Pearman and Lillie Bearid Pearman.

Mrs. Dixon was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Jacksonville where she taught Sunday School, was a Kindergarten teacher for 35 years, a mother and teacher to over 1300 children and Mother of the Year in 1969.

She is preceded in death by her husband R. K. Dixon, parents Y. C. and Lillie Pearman, son Hacksaw Dixon, sister June Wright and brother Ed Pearman.

Survivors include daughter-in-law Judy Dixon of Jacksonville; granddaughter Kathi Dixon of Jacksonville; great-grandson K. D. Dixon of Jacksonville; great-great granddaughter Natalie of Tyler; nephews Ford Dixon, Jr. of Athens, Jimmy Pearman of Katy and Ernie Wright of Whitehouse; nieces Barbara Sockwell of Nacogdoches, Carol Rainey of Jacksonville, Camilla McClain of Jacksonville and Sabrina Burns of Mesquite; special friends Robert and Betty Berry of Jacksonville; and sister-in-law Anna Pearman Floyd of Jacksonville.

Pallbearers will be Ernie Wright, Greg Ayers, Jerry McClain, Billy Redd, Pat Nance and Howard Jowers. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Berry, Curtis Sockwell, Robert Byers, Jimmy Pearman and All Former Kindergarten Students.
