Retired Army Staff Sgt. Donald Eugene Phillips, 56, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, in Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg.
Mr. Phillips was a member of Anderson Creek Community Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 9 a.m. Thursday in Adcock Funeral Home chapel in Spring Lake by the Rev. Ralph Darch. Burial with military honors will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Laura N. Phillips of the home; two sons, Steven Cockran of Broadway and Sammy Nelson of Bristol, Tenn.; three daughters, Tonya Powell of Raleigh and Teresa Rhodes and Phyllis Johnson, both of Sanford; his mother and stepfather, Virginia and Ralph Gentry of Hickory; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
