Clyde – Frances Jaynes Heatherly Russell, age 62 of Old Clyde Road died Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at her residence surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle.
She was a native and life-long resident of Haywood County and a daughter of Geneva J. Embler. She was preceded in death by her father, aunt Hilda Clark and cousin, Stanley Jaynes. Frances was employed with Blue Ridge Paper Company for 27 years and was a member of Dellwood Baptist Church.
Frances inspired family and friends in many ways. She showed her love through spending time with her grandkids, loving and caring for friends and family. She loved the beautiful things in life. Flowers and warm summer days were her favorite. The memories of camping trips, playing in the river and farming in the field with Skipper will never be forgotten. The music she loved will forever be heard in her grandsons bluegrass fiddles. Her dedication and gift of giving was her greatest calling evidenced by those who were touched by her.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of five years, Skipper Russell; three daughters, Lynn Heatherly Wright and her husband, Charles, of Waynesville, Janice and Vicky Heatherly and added daughter, Theresa Douberly, of Clyde; two sons, Danny "Cotton" Heatherly and his wife, Nylenda, of Canton and Kevin "Red" Heatherly and his wife, Kate, of Cruso; two sisters, Ruth Roach and Brenda Jones both of Houston, TX; two brothers, David and Harvey Jones, both of Dellwood; one step-brother; two step-sisters; three half- brothers; six grandchildren, Cliff and Matthew Wright, Nathan, Natalie, Noah and Jeremiah Heatherly; two step-grandchildren, Patrick and Nick Combs and a number of nieces and nephews and a special mention, Rick, Rory and Katie Breon;.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2007 at Dellwood Baptist Church with Reverend Wayne Willett, Reverend Bobby Rogers and Reverend Tracy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Canton. Pallbearers will be Alan Moore, Phil Moore, Steve and Michael Jones, Jimbo Sorrells, Nathan Heatherly and Hugh Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be Carroll Russell, Patrick Combs, and Hugh Love Allison.
