Mr. Charles Edward Sims passed away Wednesday, Feb.4,2004 at Keesler AFB in Biloxi,Miss. He was 65.
Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 9, at 10 am in the funerl home chaples, followed by interment in Biloxi National Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, Highway 49 North in Gulfport.
Mr. Sims resided in the Orange Grove Community of Gulport for 38 years. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Sims Served in the military for 22 1/2 years and retired in 1977 at Keesler AFB. He was the founder and owner of Gulf Coast Filters,Inc. in Gulfport and a member of VFW,Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, and the Society of Lubrication Engineers.
Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his parents, James Lloyd and Dora Mae Sims,of Ozark,Alabama.
He Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Terry A. Sim; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James "Jim" Sims,Jerry D. Sims and wife Colleen; two daughters and sons-in-law, Leisa A. and husband, Don S. Culpeper, Susan R. and Husband, Guy A. Caly Jr.;seven grandchildren, Brian and Keith Culpepper, Jared and Shelby Clay, Barrett, Emily, and Daniel Menard, all of Gulfport, Miss.; two brothers,James C. Sims and Wayne D. Sims; two sisters, Mary Alice Danford and Patsy Marie Burkett, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Dothan,Alabama.
Pallbearers will be his sons, James "Jim" Sims and Jerry Sims, son-in-law, Don Culpepper and Guy Clay,Jr., grandsons, Jarsd Clay, Brian Culpepper, and Barrett Menard.
