Funeral services for Martin Trier, 80, member of a pioneer Allen county family, who died of myocardial degeneration caused by influenza at 6 o'clock Tuesday morning at his home on the Maple road in Marion township, will be held Friday afternoon at the residence at 1 o'clock at Emmanuel Lutheran church at Soest, Rev CW Rodenbeck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body was brought to the Rodenbeck-Trier funeral home here and will be taken home late this afternoon.
The deceased had resided in Marion township the last 20 years. He had been ill the past week. He was the last of nine children of the late Mr and Mrs Conrad Trier and was a member of Emmanuel church at Soest.
Survivors include the widow, Louise; a son Martin Trier, Jr of Marion township; four daughters Mrs Edward Zwick of Adams county, Mrs Lawrence Zwick of this city, Miss Louise Trier at home and Mrs Frank Bremer of New Haven and 14 grandchildren.
