Linda D. Everett Burkhalter, 48, of Lafayette, died from cancer at 10:30 p.m. Nov. 14, 1998, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Born Aug. 1, 1950, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Emerson J. and Annabelle Henderson Everett. A former Delphi resident, she had lived in Lafayette most of her life. She graduated from Delphi High School in 1968.
She was married May 14, 1971, in Lafayette, to Robert E. "Bob" Burkhalter, who survives.
Mrs. Burkhalter worked in customer service at Sam's Wholesale Club for eight years. She also had been a teacher's aide for the learning disabilities class at Oakland Elementary School.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Delphi.
She enjoyed sewing and crafts.
Also surviving are one daughter, Jennifer L. Smith of San Marcos, Calif.; her mother and stepfather, Annabelle and Joseph Burge of Delphi; two sisters, Penny S. Stafford of Lafayette and Theresa M. Peters of Delphi; a brother, Jerry L. Everett of West Lafayette; and one grandson. She was preceded in death by her father.
Services were Tuesday in Lafayette, with burial in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
