ONLY ONE MOTHER

Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds; plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers, sisters, aunts and cousins; but only one Mother in the whole world.

Lily F. Anderson was born to Anna J. and William E. Johnson at Lone Star, KS, March 21, 1908. She spent her childhood days at this location, attended school at Lone Star. She was nurtured in the teachings of the Church of the Brethern and maintained a life-long dedication to this church, for the past 37 years in the Wichita First Church of the Brethern. On March 8, 1925, she was united in marriage to Donald W. Anderson at Lone Star, KS. They moved to Wichita in 1942.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Don (1906-1972)and one grandson, Matt Jenkins (1958-1961). She is survived by her children, Delbert and Fern Anderson, Alvin and Wilma Anderson, Claude and Nancy Anderson, Aileen and Jack Hutchison and Marilyn and Earl Jenkins. Also 14 grandsons, 7 granddaughters and 7 great-grand children. Countless friends and relatives have experienced the warm hospitality of Lily and Don. The many members of the Rainbow Shut-In Club, which has been a large part of her life for the past few years, will miss her friendly smile and helpful nature.

LETTER FROM LILY
I (Alice Windle) received a letter from from Lily Anderson on October 21, 1974. She first told me about the family history that Amanda Dixon had kept and that it was in the possession of Gladys Young, her daughter, who lived in Independence.
