Funeral services for Deacon Leroy Wilson Hampton, Jr. will be held Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 2:00 PM the Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 1329 Market Street, Pastor A.W. Jackson, Officiating. Leroy Wilson Hampton, Jr. was born September 10, 1954, to the late Helen Louise Gordon and Leroy Wilson Hampton, Sr. Leroy accepted Christ at an early age where he joined the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under the pastorage of the late Rev. C.C. Daniels, where he served as Leader of District #5 and choir director. Leroy loved people, life, and his family, but most of all, he loved God. He was an outstanding athlete of the Andrew Jackson Sr. High School and a graduate of the class of 1972. Leroy worked for many local mortuaries and was currently employed with C. L. Page Mortuary, Inc. Leroy leaves to cherish his memories, a wife of 31 years, Olivia Parker Hampton; children, Willie Stevens, Leroy (Schimaira) Lawson, Latroy Hampton, Leroy (Catherine) Hampton, III, Christopher Hampton, Lenord Simmons, Ashley (Eric) Collins, Olivia Lana' Hampton and Ricky Clark; 10 grandchildren; a host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends. Visitation will be held Fri., March 27, 2009 at the Mortuary from 6-8 PM. Arrangements entrusted to C. L. Page Mortuary, Inc., 3031 Moncrief Rd.
