Ruby was baptized early in life as a member of the Smyrna Church of Christ and at the time of her passing was attending Wheeler Church of Christ near Dixon. Ruby enjoyed doing ceramics, shopping, an going to work. She started working after all her kids were in school and continued working for 45 years. She said working with her friends was her social time. Ruby reluctantly retired at the age of 80 after falling and breaking four ribs.
She is survived by her daughters, Terry Johnson of Bella Coola, British Columbia (Canada) and Shirley Price of Eldon; two sons, Tommy (Judy) Roberds and David (Peggy) Roberds both of Meta; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Donald Roberds and daughter, Peggy Roberds.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 (noon), on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Larry Cardinal officiating. Interment will be held in Stokes Cemetery near Meta. Memorial contributions are suggested to Stokes Cemetery near Meta.
