Winfield S. Norcross, MD was an 1886 graduate in Homœopathic Medicine from the State University of Iowa.

At the time the card on the right was printed he announced that his home office was 66 Lisbon Street, Lewiston, Maine.

He billed himself as "The Specialist" in all chronic, nervous and blood diseases and further stated "All Female Diseases Quickly Cured."

On September 11, 1895 the Poland Centennial (in Poland, Maine announced:
The hotel at Poland Corner has been recently purchased by Dr. W.S. Norcross, the celebrated specialist, and has been fitted by him with great care for use as a sanitarium in the future. Dr. Norcross has made many changes about the entire premises, all of which are improvements, and show that he is a man of progressive ideas. We gladly welcome such a citizen to our enterprising town.

In 1880 he married Charlotte Taft "Lottie" Benson (4 July 1852 – 30 November 1918), a Mormon whose father, Ezra Taft Benson, had six wives. Her mother was the first of the six wives. Lottie returned to her home in Salt Lake City after the death of her husband but I have been unable to locate her grave.

Enlisted in Company K, Maine 7th Infantry Regiment on 21 Aug 1861. He was mustered out on 03 Sep 1862.
