Mr. Donald B. Beard, 72, died Thursday morning (December 2, 2010) at his residence following an extended illness.
He was a native of Turner County but had been living in Waycross for over forty years. He was the son of the late George D. Beard and Mozella Poore Beard. He was a retired District Supervisor for Pic-N- Save, a member of Central Baptist Church and loved to fish.
Survivors include his wife, Peggie Beard of Waycross; two daughters, Leslie Ranew (husband Mike) of Waycross and Donna Borges (husband Ed) of Duluth, GA; one grandson, Corey Ranew of Waycross; two sisters, Ruth Youngblood of Ashburn, GA and Shirley Whiddon of Tifton, GA; one brother, Grady Beard (wife Pauline Childs) of Sycamore, GA; numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 11 am Saturday (December 4, 2010) at Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at Music Funeral Home.
