SLUSSER, MINNIE FRANCES (PAXTON), 87, went home to the Lord, November 25, 2010 at Franciscan Health Care in Louisville.

Frances was born November 19, 1923 in Louisville to Virgie (Ratchford) and George Paxton. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and canning, which won her numerous ribbons at the Grayson County Fair. Frances previously owned and directed The Three Bears Daycare Center in Valley Station for 16 years. Later she worked several years as a caregiver for the elderly. She was a longtime member of Clarkson Baptist Church in Clarkson, KY.

Frances married Charles B. "Ben" Slusser Jr. on November 7, 1939 in Louisville. They were married 61 years until he passed away April 10, 2001. One infant son, Richard, preceded her in death.

She is survived by eight children, Charlotte Fenster (Ronald, deceased), Elaine Slusser (Smith, Keller), Patricia Aldridge (Frankie), Charles B. Slusser III (Margarita), Joseph Slusser (Pamela), Paul Slusser, Janice Hearn (Jerry) and Mark Slusser (Patricia); 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special nephew, Robert Thomas; brother, Robert Paxton; and two sisters, Louise Greenway and Mary Ruth Winters.

Funeral: 2 p.m. CST Sunday at Clarkson Baptist Church, Clarkson, with burial to follow in the family cemetery, Heaven's Gate, on the family farm. Visitation: 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road and 1 p.m. CST Sunday at the church.
