James McLaughlin, formerly well known in this place, died at his home at Alamosa, Col., aged forty-one years. Mr. McLaughlin leaves a widow, formerly Miss Cornelia Vail of this place, daughter Genevieve and a mother. Funeral services will be held from the residence of his mother in Stanfordville.

Daughter Genevieve McLaughlin was the first newspaperwoman in Colorado, and authored a biography entitled "Billy Adams, Colorado's Cowboy Governor".
