Arolene Simon LaBree, 90, of Woodburn, died March 22.
Born July 20, 1913 in St. Paul, she attended Mt. Angel Normal School, graduated with M.S. degree from Eastern Oregon State College.
At different periods she taught in Verboort, Taulatin, Echo and Heppner over 29-plus years. She taught in Washington for 10 years, including at G.W.S.C. in Ellensburg. She moved to Woodburn in 1986 from Hemit, Calif. For 10 years she taught special education and was a teacher's aide until 2003. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, the Eagles, the Elks and Catholic Daughters.
She married Harold Adra Laird. He preceded her in death in 1965.
She married Earl LaBree in 1968. He preceded her in death in 1994.
She is survived by a daughter, Elaine McGann of Woodburn; son, Thomas Laird of Pendleton; sister, Helen Wilkin of Vanita, Calif.; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial mass was held March 26 at St. Luke Catholic Church.
