John Redden was a Private in the Confederate States Army. Co. A, Virginia 30th Sharp Shooter, 22 June 1861 (enlistment?). Mustered out 10 Nov 1862. This latter date seems unusual as this was before the War ended. One explanation, West Virginia succeeded from Virginia during the war. An interesting possibility.
