William met and married Elizabeth Shinn, January 5, 1859 and they had one son, William Allen Johnson born June 11, 1861 in Carroll County, GA, and a daughter, Martha E who was 6 months old on the 1860 Census.

On the 1840 Census in Richmond, Georgia, we find William 3 years old living with his family.

On the 1850 Census in Richmond, Georgia, we find William H, 12 years old born in Georgia, Living with his father, Henry 42 years old, a planter, also listed living in the household are: Mary B 3 years old, Mary Lowry 17 years old, John B Lowery 26 years old, Charles A Johnson, 14 years old, Jacob D Johnson, 9 years old; Samuel BC, 3 years old and Jacob B Johnson 20 years old, all born in Georgia.

The 1860 Census finds William H Johnson living in Villa Rica, Carroll County, being 22 years old and living with his wife Elizabeth, 24 years old and a 6 month old daughter, named Martha E. He is a farmer and Lizzie is a housewife.

The moved to Texas after the Civil War, William H was not well from being injured in the War, it is believed he was injured in the groin, never recovered, and died in Leon County after 1870.

The 1870 Census finds William H Johnson living with his wife Elizabeth and 9 year old son, Will, in Leon County, Texas.

We believe that William H died soon after the Census was taken, due to the remarriage of his wife, Elizabeth, marrying Samps Hollaman, in 1871.
