Mr. John Waddie Sheffield passed away at his home near Ridgeway Thursday.
He was 53 years old and spent his whole life in the Ridgeway community in the same house in which he was born.
He was the youngest child of Col. William A. Sheffield and Katherine Hill Sheffield.
His wife, who was Miss Lucy Withers and four children, Messrs. William A. and John W. Sheffield and Misses Susan and Lucy Wootton Sheffield survive him.
He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. B. F. Barrow and Mrs. L. S. Thomas of Martinsville.
Funeral services were at the late residence and burial in the family burying ground.
