Zeb Spahr, 60, Bristol, Va., resident and prominent Washington County farmer and cattleman, died yesterday at Bristol Memorial Hospital, following an illness of one month. An active member of the Farm Bureau and the Washington County Dairyman's Association, he was a member of the Mary's Chapel Union Church and Valley Masonic Lodge 93, A. F. and A. M. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sadie Fleenor Spahr; two daughters, Mrs. J. W. Pendleton of Urbana, Ill., and Mrs. R. V. Hellenfant [sic] of Shelbyville, Tenn., a son, Kenneth Spahr, of Bristol; three brothers, W. I, Spahr, of Bristol, Glenn Spahr, Winlock, Wash., and Howard Spahr, Mayfield, Ky., and five grandchildren. BRISTOL HERALD-COURIER, 2 Jan. 1956.

Funeral services for Zeb Spahr, 60, Bristol, Va., Rt. 3, will be conducted at the Mary's Chapel Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. W. Clyde Smith will officiate and Dr. H. J. Derthick and Rev. Paul Brown will assist. Burial will be in the Mary's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers: Ralph Spahr, Robert Spahr, Charles Spahr, Gene Cross, Earl Denton and Harvey Ketron. The Masonic Lodge will have charge of services at the grave. It was a personal request of Mr. Spahr that flowers be omitted and instead, those that want to could make contributions to Mary's Chapel Church for purchase of pews. The body will remain at the Paul Cook Funeral Home and will be taken to the church one hour before time of service. BRISTOL HERALD-COURIER, 2 Jan. 1956.
