Doris Katherine Russell passed away 11/11/10 in Edmond, Oklahoma. Doris was born December 28, 1922, in Roff, Oklahoma, to Ethel & W.O. Pratt. Doris attended Norman High School. On December 31, 1939, she married Ralph W. Russell. Ralph received a JSD Degree from OU at the age of 22. Together they built a law practice and later acquired several investment & insurance corporations. They shared a marriage of 60 years. Ralph Jr., Kathy, Vivla Ray and Ann were born from the marriage. Doris was a very active volunteer in the Episcopal Church, first serving at St. Paul's Cathedral and later at Church of the Holy Apostles. Doris enjoyed playing golf, bridge and her garden club. She was always teaching one of her children's friends to needle point, sew, paint, or wall paper. She was adored by everyone. She is survived by 3 children, Ralph Jr., Vivla Ray & husband Glenn, Ann & husband Bill; sister, Carolyn Pratt Harmon of Washington, DC; 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Ralph Sr.; daughter, Doris Kathy & husband Dee Page of Moore; 4 brothers, 5 sisters. Services will be at All Souls' Episcopal Church, 6400 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Oklahoma City, OK, at 11:00 am, Tuesday, Nov. 16th. Special thanks to Autumn Bridge Hospice, Vonda Haley, Lori Alca, Heaven Stiles, Brandy Paulsen, and Dawn Kampf for their care and kindness. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
