Dallas Lawson slept in the same 8-man hooch that I did and he was killed in the same attack at Camp Holloway where I was wounded. We knew him as Bo. He was a big guy and really enjoyed a drink or two. I remember he was from the South because he used to "give me the business" for being a Yankee. I think he was killed in his sleep. He lives on in my memory. Marty Murphy.

Even though I was only seven when you died, I have such strong recollections of you, and you joining the Army while you stayed with us in Nashville. I'll remember you always. You live on in all of our hearts. From your Nephew Davy.

I left a memorial to my uncle, Dallas Owen Lawson, more than nine years ago and in the years since then I am so thankful that, although I was the first, others remember still fondly remember my uncle, even after almost 46 years. I was only 7 when Uncle Owen died at Quin Nhon, but I remember it like it was yesterday. As I said three weeks before 9/11, the Lawsons still and will always remember you as we honor you on this Veteran's Day 2010. We love you and will always love and remember you. From your loving nephew, Davy, and all of your brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. George L Davis Jr, 23701 Stagg Street, West Hills, California, 91304.
