Mr. Cook died Friday in Ball Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He came to Muncie 35 years ago from Zigler, Ill., and worked 25 years at Indiana Steel & Wire Co. He attended several Baptist churches in the Muncie area and he was a member of United Steel Workers 1314, District 30; Indiana Steel & Wire Credit Union; Moose Lodge, Marion; American Legion Post 777, Indianapolis; Indiana Sheriff's Association, and Indiana State Police Alliance.
Survivors include his wife of five years, Virginia Murphy Cook; a son, Andy Cook, Muncie; a daughter, Terri Cook, Kokomo; three stepdaughters, Jina Richardson, Jackie Taylor, and Wendy Whitaker, all of Muncie; two brothers and two sisters, all living in Zigler; six grandchildren, and an uncle, Clay Boots, Muncie.
