Services for Wayne L. Cook, 57, 3609 W. 28th St., will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Parson Mortuary with Rev. J. Edward Pease officiating. Graveside rites will be preformed by the American Legion at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Cook died Friday in Ball Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He came to Muncie 35 years ago from Zigler, Ill., and worked 25 years at Indiana Steel & Wire Co. He attended several Baptist churches in the Muncie area and he was a member of United Steel Workers 1314, District 30; Indiana Steel & Wire Credit Union; Moose Lodge, Marion; American Legion Post 777, Indianapolis; Indiana Sheriff's Association, and Indiana State Police Alliance.
Survivors include his wife of five years, Virginia Murphy Cook; a son, Andy Cook, Muncie; a daughter, Terri Cook, Kokomo; three stepdaughters, Jina Richardson, Jackie Taylor, and Wendy Whitaker, all of Muncie; two brothers and two sisters, all living in Zigler; six grandchildren, and an uncle, Clay Boots, Muncie.
