Prominent Santa Fe political leader, Armando Larragoite, Sr., died at his home at 803 Agua Fria Street, Santa Fe, NM.
Mr. Larragoite was prominent in Santa Fe County political affairs for many years, served both as member and president of the Santa Fe City School Board for 12 years. Larragoite School on Agua Fria Street bears his name.
Mr. Larragoite was Chief of Police in Santa Fe and served two terms on the Santa Fe City Council. He also was Santa Fe County Under Sheriff.
He was born in La Joya, NM, near Velarde, and came to Santa Fe as a child. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for many years (in Santa Fe and Las Vegas, NM) and operated a small grocery store at 803 Agua Fria St. in Santa Fe.

Grand Parents: Benito Anselmo Larragoite (Born in Bilbao, Spain; arrived in the Territory of New Mexico in 1830) and Maria Feliciana Valdes.
Parents: Mariano Larragoite and Paula Lopez Larragoite.

Sister: Mary Lehmann of Oakland, Calif.; and,
27 grandchildren.
Funeral service was December **, 1971; 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Rosary was recited prior to Mass.
U.S.Sen. Joseph M. Montoya, a longtime friend, delivered the eulogy at the graveside.
