HELEN HILLMAN DIES SUNDAY IN BAD AXE
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Hillman, 76 of Cass City were scheduled Wednesday afternoon at Little's Funeral Home. She died Sunday, Sept. 11, in Huron Memorial Hospital, Bad Axe.
The widow of Alvah Hillman, she was born Feb. 6, 1901, in Chicago, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bartle, and moved to Wickware when a child.
Miss Bartle married Earl Chisholm in Greenleaf township in 1917. He died in 1934. She moved to Bay City in 1943 and was employed at the Mill End Store until 1959 when she married Mr. Hillman in Omer June 13. Mr. Hillman succumbed July 4, 1971.
She attended the Salem United Methodist church of Cass City.
Survivors include three stepdaughters, Mrs. W. E. (Helen) Howard of Skidmore, Texas, Mrs. Shirley Heronemus of Decker and Mrs. Irwin (Florence) Herbst of Algonac; three half-brothers, Kenneth Bartle of Cadillac, Leonard Bartle of Florida and Bruce Bartle of Cass City, and five grandchildren.
The Rev. Eldred Kelley, pastor of Salem UM church, officiated and burial was in Elkland Cemetery.
