COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Robert Stanley Cawthon, 80, of Cookeville were held on Saturday, April 6, from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Burial with military honors followed in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Cawthon died on Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 11, 1922, in Butts County, Ga., to the late Robert Lee and Pearl Peek Cawthon. Mr. Cawthon was a retired Chief Deputy City Marshall with the City of Atlanta, Ga., and was a member of Sylvan Hills Baptist Church in Atlanta. He was a US Air Force Veteran of WWII and fought in the Normandy Invasion.
His family includes his wife, Geraldine McDonald Cawthon; two sisters: Nina Helms of East Point, Ga., and Ruby Keith of Fayettville, Ga.
