David A. "Hillbilly" McGrath

BLOOMINGDALE - Mr. David A. "Hillbilly" McGrath, 47, died on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at his home.

The Chatham County native had formerly been employed with Clifton as a dump truck driver.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, wildlife, antiques and bluegrass music.

Survivors include his mother, Judy Criswell of Bloomingdale; father, Joseph McGrath of Midway; brother, Robert McGrath of Bloomingdale; loving companion, Dee "Disaster" Berkly of Bloomingdale; two nieces, Christie McGrath and Amy Lee McGrath; nephew, Bubba McGrath; uncle, Bobby Stegins of Bloomingdale; cousin, Robby Stegins of Bloomingdale and two step-children, Brandy and Jennifer Parrish.

Visitation: 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 11 a.m. on Monday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery. Rev. Wayne DeFore will be officiating and the pallbearers will be Rickey Peoples, Eric Stafford, Ken Stafford, Don Hurd, Robby Stegins and Frenchie.
