Rev. Mark D. Woodring, 51, of 239 Spruce Street, Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 29, 2010, at the Hershey Medical Center.

He was born in Waynesboro, PA on July 4, 1959, and was the son of Nancy Mentzer Woodring of Marion, PA, and the late Merle D. Woodring.

He was an Ordained Elder of the Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church and served on several conference committees.

He was the Pastor of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Middletown, a graduate of the James Buchanan High School, Mercersburg, PA Class of 1977, Lycoming College, Class of 1981, and Drew University School of Theology, Class of 1984.

Rev. Woodring served as Pastor at Wallaceton UMC Charge (1984-1988), Cross Roads UMC Charge, York Co. (1988-1991), St. John's UMC, Hegins (1991-1997), Avis UMC, Avis, PA (1997-2003), and Park Avenue UMC, Chambersburg, (2003-2010).

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Cathryn Gail Parr Woodring; two daughters, Lauren E. Woodring, a student at St. Andrew's University, Scotland and Rachel K. Woodring a student at Susquehanna University; brother, Craig, husband of Nikki Woodring of Shippensburg; four nieces.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 6, 2010, in the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Spruce and Water Streets, Middletown, with the Rev. Deborah Heisley-Cato, District Superintendent of the Harrisburg District of United Methodist Church officiating.

Private burial will be held in the Middletown Cemetery with the Rev. James Dawes officiating.

Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services, Saturday at his church.
