Melba A. Humphries, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 29, 2010.
She was born January 9, 1917 to the late Earnest and Ethel Johnson.
She was a member of Apison Baptist Church. She was a loving Mother and will be missed greatly.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Woodrow Humphries; son, Carl H. Humphries; grandchildren, Pam and Claude Humphries; aunt and uncle, Tom and Mary Johnson.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn H. Wiseman and husband, Tony; daughter-in-law, Linda Humphries; grandchildren, Carla Baker and husband, Nelson; Karen Koelle and husband, Chris; Carl Humphries Jr.; and Karey Humphries; two great-grandchildren, Melinda Baker and Christian Koelle, all from Ooltewah and McDonald, Tenn. She also is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the Valley View Chapel with Rev. Bob Dasal and Rev. Russell Maroon officiating.Burial will follow at Lebanon Laurel Hill Cemetery in Bradley County.
Pallbearers will be Carl Humphries Jr., Karey Humphries, Don Humphries, Nelson Baker, Chris Koelle and Thomas Wiseman.
Memorial contributions may be made to Apison Baptist Church, Building Fund, or the AWANA Program, P.O. Box 309, Apison, TN 37302.
