Mrs. Harry Miersma Died
Saturday Following Illness

On Saturday afternoon, January 4, it behooved the Lord to take unto himself Mrs. Harry W. Miersma (nee Hattie Te Slaa), who succumbed quitely after an illness of four months of typhoid fever.

It is indeed a severe shock to her family, relatives and friends, as she was a kind and loving mother and read at all times to render aid where ever she could.

The deceased was born August 9, 1885 in the Netherlands, where she lived until until 1892, when she immigrated with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Te Slaa to this country settling in Sioux Center.

First the family lived around Sioux Center and later moved to a farm three and one half miles south of Hull.

On February 25, 1908, she was united in marriage with Harry W. Miersma son of Mr. and Mrs. Wiebe Miersma of Hull. They settled on a farm southwest of Hull where they have lived ever since.

To this union six children were born namely: Wilmer, Gerrit, Mrs. Margaret Pollema, Joe, Henry, and Edward.

Besides her husband and children she is survived by three grandchildren, her aged mother, three brothers, Henry, John and Will and four sisters, Mrs. J. W. VerMeer, Mrs. Lambert Kooiker, Mrs. Dora Vander Schaaf and Mrs. John Hospers.

The funeral was held Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1936 from the home and from the First Reformed Church, Rev. Douwstra officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Hope Cemetery, Hull, Iowa.
