Thaon Shafton Reese, age 68, of 11 Second St., Canton, NC, died Saturday Oct. 22, 1994. Born in Madrid, Alabama, he was the son of the late Thaon Shafton Reese Sr. and Charlotte Holland Reese. He was a retired superintendant with Daniels Construction, with 22 years service. He was a member of Sonoma Masonic Lodge No. 472, A.F. and A.M., Shriners, Scottish Rite, and Canton Freewill Baptist Church. A U.S. Navy Veteran, he served in the European Theater, and participated in the "D" Day invasion of France.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Clark Reese of Canton, NC,; two daughters, Lori Reese of Drexel, NC, and Georgia Greer of Lenoir, NC; a son, Kenneth Marbin Johnson of Canton; three sisters, Edna H. Buell and Louise Brookshire of Canton, and Ada Scott of Glen Alpine, NC; a brother John E. Reese of Madrid, Alabama, and four grandchildren.
