Great-great-great grandson of Pvt. Austin Beasley, Sr. (a Revolutionary War Soldier & large land owner), and Polly Mary Hollingsworth Carroll Beasley; Great-great-grandson of Bass Beasley; Great-grandson of Daniel James Beasley; Grandson of James Lee Beasley.

He married Nettie Jean Potter Beasley of Magnolia, North Carolina on August 26, 1956. He was a wonderful and loving father who worked long and hard hours to support his family. He was a dairyman most of his life. He had 2 sons, Kenneth Ned Beasley and Terry Sanford Beasley and 1 daughter, Tamela Jean Beasley Rouse. At the time of his death he had 1 grandson, Benjamin Allen Rouse, Tamela's son. The grandchildren have now increased to 4 as well as 2 step-grandchildren and 1 great-grandaughter. Charles Sanford Rouse, Tamela's second son and Ned Scott Beasley and Natalie Quinn Beasley, Ned's children. Also, Nick Holland and Katie Holland, Terry's step-children. His cause of death was from bronchogenic carcinoma and complications from metastatic brain lesions. He died at his home and was buried 2 days later on December 16th.

He served in the North Carolina National Guard in Company M, 119th Infantry Division as a 105MM Rifle Gunner. He enlisted at Warsaw, Duplin County, North Carolina.
