Moved to what would become Greene County, Tennessee in 1788- 1789. He was appointed a deacon in January 1791 of Lick Creek Baptist Church. Erected a huge log cabin. Planter and slave owner, owned more than 9000 acres at his death not including a tract of land in Knox County.
