Elsie appears in the 1880 US PA census records, residing w/her parents in Jefferson Twp., Dauphin county. Her age is noted as (3). According to her son Darwin, "she was a good wife and a great mother". She was president of the Jackson Heights Garden Club, in Tampa, FL, and was an active member of the Tampa Heights Presbyterian church. She died of a heart attack. Elsie was named as a granddaughter of Johannes Hoffman, and a d/o Susannah and Nathaniel Zimmerman, in her grandfather's will, dated December 7th, 1889.
