Laura was the daughter of Charles and Jerusha Jerrell. She was the wife of Fredrick Newton Stevenson. Marriage register states she was born in Knox County, Indiana and is the daughter of Charles Jerrell and Jerusha West.

"Birds......Monday about 1 o'clock p. m. Mrs Laura Stevenson, aged 71 years, passed away. A few weeks ago she fell, injuring her shoulder. She was believed to have been recovering but pneumonia developed, causing her death.

She was the widow of Newt Stevenson and leaves the following children to mourn her death: Mrs. Herman Riggs, of Birds; Mrs. Clint Williams of Spencer, Ind; John Stevenson, of Oklahoma; Chauncey and Art Stevenson, of Sumner. Funeral was held Wednesday at the U. B. church and burial in Otterbein cemetery."
