Funeral services for Dorothy Jane Wasson, 74, of Calera, will be 10:00am Saturday, July 10, 2010 in Brown's Funeral Service chapel with Rev. Roland Barrick officiating. Family visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born September 17, 1935 in California, Missouri to Rueben Jobe and Blanche (Maupin) Jobe and passed from this life Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in Durant. She came to Bryan County in 1955 from Missouri and she married Auburn "Bud" Wasson on July 27, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas. Dorothy enjoyed raising dogs and was a member of the American Kennel Club. She also enjoyed playing bingo and was a fabulous cook. She was of the Church of Christ faith.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband, "Bud", of Calera; her pet dog, 'Lil Rat"; daughter Debbie Wasson of Arkansas; son Chester Joseph Wasson of Calera; grandchildren Joshua Bradley, Asher and DeLeani Reagan; brothers Eugene Maupin of Fortuna, MO, and Herman Jobe of Merritt Island, FL; sister JoAnn Brandt of Mississippi; niece Martha Sue Duggins of Minneapolis, MN; nephew William Fahrendorf of Durant; and many other nieces, nephews, and good friends.
