AGE: 74 METUCHEN
Jane N. Betz, 74, of Metuchen, died Friday at Park Place Center in Monmouth Jct.
Born in Brooklyn, she resided in Kendall Park before moving to Metuchen in 2004.
She was an artist. Her watercolors, acrylics, pastels, mosaics, icons, and other works of art were her passion, which she shared with all those around her.
For many years, Jane and her husband were volunteers at Elijah's Promise in New Brunswick where she also served on the board.
She is predeceased by her husband Gerard G. Betz (d.2004).
Surviving are her four children Gerard G. Betz II and his wife Cynthia of Fairfield, IL, Jane D. Betz of Chicago, IL, Peter Betz and his wife Cindy of Hillsborough and Katherine Doherty and her husband Brian of Mendham; one sister Beth Barry and her husband Edward of Woodbury; 6 grandchildren Thomas, Rhiana, Michael, Julia, Emily and Sadie.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday 9:45am at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (RT27) Metuchen (costello-runyon.com) followed by a 10:15am Funeral Mass at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen. Interment is at Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick. Visitation is Monday 2-4 and 7-9 at Costello-Runyon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Elijah's Promise, 211 Livingston Ave, New Brunswick in Jane's memory (http://www.elijahspromise.net/).
