Thomas Jefferson HARRISON JR 1894 – 1966

Thomas served in the Regular US Army during the Civil War as a member Company C, 1st Regiment, US Sharpshooters. He was discharged due to frozen feet 7 APR 1863 after serving less than one year. He suffered from the damage to his feet the rest of his life. He returned home to Michigan, but around 1867 with his parents and many of his siblings dead, he more or less disappeared; it was years before his family heard from him again and by then he was married and had children. From what few records exist, he traveled west through California, Washington and Oregon where he met and married Emily in Dufur, Wasco County, Oregon. He spent the last period of his life in a hospital at Ft Steilacoom and died of cerebral apoplexy according to the available records.
