Florence Anita Kaveney
Age 92 of Eldorado Springs, MO, formerly of Wilmington, IL, passed away Sunday morning, November 18, 2001. She resided in Wilmington from 1938 until 1991. Born March 2, 1909 in Mountain Grove, MO, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Mary (Longfeldt) Braun, also preceded in death by her husband, Francis Kaveney (1990); a brother; and three sisters. Francis and Florence were married on September 11, 1933 in Joliet. In 1938 they moved to Wilmington and opened The Kaveney Drug Store on North Water St. They owned and operated the business until 1968. Francis and Florence played an active role in the Wilmington community throughout their business life. Florence was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church where she belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society and Past President for 25 years. For 20 years she helped to decorate the altar. Besides assisting at the drug store, Florence loved spending many hours entertaining her numerous friends. Surviving are two sons, Mickey (Lorrie) of MO and Phillip of Florida. Also three grandchildren, Tracy (John) Shelden of TX, Wendy (Jack) Oakley and Marcy (Michael) Gibson both of Missouri; and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2001 from 3 - 7 PM at the Freitag Funeral Home. Funeral Services from the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Saturday, November 24, 2001 to St. Rose Catholic Church for a 10 AM Funeral Mass. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Joliet.
