Olive F. Unger, 74, of 616 Belford Ave., died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital after an illness of two days. Mrs. Unger, the widow of the late Roscoe Unger whom she married in 1923 following the death, in 1920 of her first husband, Willis McGlothlin, was a lifetime resident of the Western Slope and a Grand Junction resident for the past 40 years.
She was born Olive Fern Thomas, on June 5, 1889, at Aspen, and she spent most of her childhood in the Aspen and Gothic areas.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the VFW Auxiliary, the Rebekah Lodge, and the Cooks and Waitresses Union.
Mrs. Unger is survived by three sons, Bruce McGlothlin, of Grand Junction and Forest McGlothlin and Claire Unger, both of Denver.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. C.E. Bowen, of Woodland, Calif., and Mrs Opal Noble, of Ashford, Ariz., and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Unger was well known for her skill in the painting of china and as a water color artist.
Funeral services, under the direction of Martin's Mortuary, will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Earl H. Gosa officiating.
Burial, with graveside rites by Grand Valley Rebekah Lodge No. 40, will follow at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.

Born in 1889 in Aspen, Colorado. Her parents were Oliver & Eliza Hodgson Thomas. She lived in Aspen, Marble, Gothic, Gunnison, & Grand Junction, CO. She married Willis McGlothlin in 1910 he died in 1920 buried in Crested Butte and she later married Roscoe Unger in 1923. She had 4 sons. She also raised two of her sisters after their parents died in 1922. Buried in Block H.
