CHESAPEAKE - Lola Nosay Abrames, 93, of Mount Pleasant Road, passed away March 12, 2007, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Mathias and the widow of Edward R. Abrames.
She is survived by her two daughters, Irma Weller and husband Mickey of Ocala, Fla. and Edythe Crowley and husband Mike of Westfield, Mass.; two sons, Edward R. Abrames Jr. and wife Connie of Chesapeake and Irvin L. Abrames and wife Ingrid of Hansville, Wash.; two half sisters, Miriam Horton of Virginia Beach and Betty Sutton of Norfolk; and two half brothers, Howard Mathias of Chesapeake and Emmett Dean of Brooklyn Center, Minn. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, a special friend and caregiver, Mary Yoder and her beloved kitty, Cissy. She was predeceased by a daughter, Phoebe Etheridge.
A service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, with the Rev. Harold Bergey officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to SPCA.
