Lester L. Tollie, 77, of 8518 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, died Tuesday at the Shawnee Mission hospital. He was born in Marceline, MO, and lived in the Kansas City area 40 years. He was president of the Holestine Truck Line Company. Mr. Tollie was a member of the Central Church of the Nazarene, Kansas City, Kansas.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Georgia Tollie of the home; two sons, Paul H. Tollie, 8515 Floyd, Overland Park, and Lester L. Tollie Jr., 5729 Beverly, Mission; two daughters, Mrs. Betty L. Thomas, 822 Dakota, Independence, and Mrs. Beverly Troutner, Cameron, MO; a brother, James Tollie, Hemet, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Abney, Mrs. Zela Izett, and Mrs. Maude Dorsey; 11 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday at the church, burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 4 o'clock tonight at the Newcomer Chapel, Overland Park.


Lester was first married on March 29, 1913 in Richmond, Missouri to Edna Wright. Two children followed, Lola Frances Tollie and Mary Maxine Tollie (died as an infant). In 1916, he divorced Edna and married Lena Farris and had Eugene Tollie. Paul and Robert Tollie followed. Lena passed away in 1927. Lester next, mmarried Marianne Blair but, the marraige did not last long until Lester divorced her. Then, he married Georgia Phillips whom he stayed with until his death and had Betty, Beverly and Lester Jr.
